
Artist Respite Program - Grafton Regional Gallery
INTRODUCTION
Artists in recovery who have been affected by natural disasters in the Northern Rivers are invited to apply for free respite at the Grafton Regional Gallery. Accommodation and studio space are available for up to one week between July 2023 - January 2024. This is an unpaid opportunity to take a break with no obligation to create work.

ELIGIBILITY
Artists based in the Northern Rivers who have been affected by a natural disaster.
FEES & OUTCOMES
There is no expectation that artists will have an outcome from their involvement in the
program. The accommodation and studio access are offered free of charge for artists in
recovery. No artist fees are offered for participating in the program.
LOCATION
The studio and accommodation are located within the Grafton Regional Gallery, surrounded
by a beautiful cottage garden. The venue is situated in the heritage precinct of Grafton,

ACCOMMODATION
Grafton Regional Gallery’s Artist Cottage is the perfect one-bedroom retreat for a short stay in the Clarence Valley. The air-conditioned, boutique-style accommodation has everything required for a unique getaway, offering a queen size bed, a desk with WIFI access, kitchen, and laundry facilities for up to two guests. The kitchen facilities include a kettle, fridge,countertop induction burner and microwave. All linen and towels are provided.


STUDIO
The versatile, 36 sqm studio is suitable for all art forms. Filled with natural light, the space has vinyl flooring and access to water and digital media facilities including a ceiling-mounted projector and screen and WIFI. The space can be arranged furnished or unfurnished with several tables, chairs, and easels available for use.
MATERIALS
Artists are to supply their own art materials however some basic supplies are available.
